Jascha Horenstein made a number of trips to South America as a guest conductor, and here we begin documenting his time in Venezuela, with two concerts recorded in Caracas in 1957 with the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra.
There are three symphonies: Mozart's 39th, Prokofiev's 5th and Sibelius's 2nd, as well as the Egmont Overture from Beethoven and orchestral excerpts from Wagner's Lohengrin and Tristan und Isolde.
