HORENSTEIN conducts Dvořák & Janáček

NB: Due to the current pandemic CD shipments may take longer than usual to arrive.

We bring you the finest Czech music this week from Jascha Horenstein, beginning with his superb 1952 recording of the Dvořák New World Symphony with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, completely revamped in this new XR remaster for Pristine and sounding superb.

We also mark the 166th birthday on the day of release of Janáček, with a previously-unissued recording of his rhapsody Taras Bulba, recorded at the 1961 Edinburgh Festival with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in a fabulous live performance that adds yet another dimension to the Horenstein recorded catalogue.
