FRITZ BUSCH in Stockholm

This week we travel to Sweden for a set of recordings made in Stockholm under the baton of Fritz Busch - a regular visitor to the Swedish capital who often conducted the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra there for Swedish radio.

Some of the fruits of these broadcast recordings - and more - can be heard on a release which features a wonderful performance of Franz Berwald's Symphony No. 1, but for which the highlight for most listeners is likely to be a superb performance of Richard Strauss' Four Last Songs with the "invariably beautiful" soprano voice of Sena Jurinac heard here in superb Ambient Stereo XR-remastered sound.
