BRENDEL Liszt & Mozart Concertos

This week at Pristine we pay tribute to the great pianist Alfred Brendel, who died earlier this month at the age of 94. This double-CD issue features five of Brendel's early stereo concerto recordings, lovingly restored and XR remastered by Andrew Rose for Pristine.

The recordings, made in Vienna by Vox, feature both of Liszt's two piano concertos, recorded in 1956. There are also three Mozart concertos, nos. 17, 22 and 25, which complement the 27th Concerto we issued three years ago.

We also celebrate two great composers with major anniversaries - Neilsen was 160 years old earlier in June, and we also mark the death of Satie, 100 years ago on 1 July. Both composers' music is discounted by 20% this week.
