Walter Rarities Vol. 2 - more rare and unreleased recordings

"Once again, doughty Pristine Audio bravely steps into the breach to fill in a gaping hole in the discography of famous performances that the holders of the original recordings have failed to address" - Fanfare (on Bruno Walter Rarities, Vol. 1)

Mark Obert-Thorn has done it again! With this second volume of rare recordings conducted by Bruno Walter he addresses the pre-war recordings Walter made in Europe between 1923 and 1938 and pulls a number of rabbits out of the hat.

Most of these recordings have seen very limited release or reissue - including a superb Eine Kleine Nachtmusik from 1931. But the icing on the cake is a 1928 Nozze di Figaro Overture that survives on a single 78rpm test pressing and has never been issued before.

  • BERLIOZ Roman Carnival Overture
  • WAGNER Parsifal Act I Transformation Music; Siegfried Idyll
  • MOZART Le Nozze di Figaro – Overture; Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
