SCHURICHT Beethoven Symphonies Vol. 4

This week sees the penultimate volume in our series of Beethoven Symphonies conducted by Carl Schuricht in Paris in the late fifties, adding the Seventh and Eighth Symphonies to the first six already published.
But there's a surprise extra track here - a mono take of the opening movement of the Ninth Symphony that's more than three-quarters of a minute swifter than the published stereo version (to follow in Volume Five). Evidence of record company confusion or incompetence? Who knows!

TCHAIKOVSKY PROMOTION To mark the 130th anniversary of the death of composer Tchaikovsky, this week we're offering a 20% discount on all his recordings. Offer runs until 10 November.
