Jascha Spivakovsky Volume 6

"Each volume of our Jascha Spivakovsky series, "From Bach to Bloch" (and yes, we'll get to Bloch eventually!) adds another dimension to the slender but growing catalogue of Jascha's recordings, and this sixth outing is no exception. For the first time we find him playing works by the two Franz's, Schubert and Liszt - an Impromptu and a Hungarian Rhapsody respectively.

Elsewhere there are substantial works by J. S. Bach - the Italian ConcertoMozart and Schubert - a piano sonata each - and two shorter works from Chopin.

The Spivakovsky legend continues to build with each release and we're sure this one will do nothing but add to his growing reputation. Despite never recording commercially this collection of broadcast and private recordings offers a vital window on one of the great pianists of the twentieth century.
