BUSCH QUARTET plays Brahms

"How many virtuosos, some of them illustrious, seem, when they play chamber music, to be juxtaposed with their bowed colleagues, or to be playing the soloist? In this case, the pianist's integration into the ensemble is perfect, both meticulously thought out and organically experienced." - Journal d'Alsace et de Lorraine, 1949

This release sees two recordings from the Strasbourg Festival of 1949, with the Busch Quartet joined by Rudolf Serkin for the Brahms 1st Piano Quartet and additional reinforcements for the Brahms 1st Sextet in two stunning live performances.

We also celebrate the music of Delius in recognition of the 90th anniversary this week of his death in 1934 with a special discount on all our recordings of his music.
