The year 2022 sees the 150th birthday of that most English of composers, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and one of the ways we're marking it is with a brand new XR-remastered Ambient Stereo edition of Sir Adrian Boult's classic 1950s complete symphony cycle.
We begin at the start, with Vaughan Williams' First Symphony, entitled "A Sea Symphony", in a magnificent remastering of a superb performance with Boult conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus with soloists Isobel Baillie and James Cameron. It's a fine way to begin a classic cycle, as we work our way through some of the finest English music ever written.
