You
may have missed some of these gems, lurking in the darker reaches of the
Pristine Audio Direct website, but we're happy now to bring them together
in the first of our Pristine Audio Collection volumes. Each recording
was remastered during 2005 by Andrew Rose exclusively for Pristine Audio
Direct from original 78rpm source material, and the compilation spans
a broad expanse of musical styles, eras and recordings.
From
the exquisite baroque cello duets of Paul and Maud Tortellier to the first
electric recording of Debussy's Prélude à l'Après-midi
d'un Faune, from the bombast of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture
to the delicate pianissimo of Géza Anda, there's something in this
collection for everyone.
By putting together all of these pieces into a single compilation we are
able to offer this recording for less than half the price of the individual
recordings of which it comprises. Naturally we are also offering this
compilation as a CD, made from our original, uncompressed master files
- none of these recordings are otherwise available on CD.
