Guido Cantelli - Portrait of a Maestro
Long out of print, Portrait of a Maestro, by Laurence Lewis, is based on interviews with Guido Cantelli's family, friends and musicians who collaborated with him as singers, instrumentalists and orchestral players.
Their memories are set against the time in which Cantelli lived - fascist Italy, his deportation during the war, Toscanini's last years with the NBC Symphony Orchestra and his concerts and recordings with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
The book includes photographs, complete listings of all his concerts and discography.
Published originally in 1981 by A S Barnes (USA) Tantivy Press (UK). Price £15.00 including post and packing from: guido.cantelli@lhpq.demon.co.uk |
